A WORKSHOP TO PLAN FOR UNITY THROUGH DIVERSITY FESTIVAL:
Part of a Nationwide Network to Create a Neighborhood Mini-Event Including a
Candlelight Vigil on September 11th

  • Plan programs that include storytellers, performing & visual artists and art workshops
  • Connect with neighborhood residents and other agencies' resources that involve youth
  • Discover other resources that can be involved: fire, police, health organizations
  • List ideas about connecting youth to the 9/11 incident: buildings, victims, rescue efforts
  • Identify children, youth, and family agencies that can participate in this project
  • Share resources about where and how to recruit residents and other volunteers
  • What elements creat a successful neighborhood: respecting differences/tolerance
